FIDESIndia Society

Transforming The Lives of Indian Children

FIDESIndia (Fransalian Initiatives for Developmental & Educational Services in India) Society is an expression of the commitment of Fransalians in India whose motive is the development of the human person and of the society, particularly of the poor and needy children in the rural villages and urban slums of Karnataka and Kerala.
FIDESIndia was founded in September 2003 by the Southwest province of the Fransalians in India. Dr. Mathew Kozhuppakalam MSFS and Fr. Shibu Jacob MSFS were the pioneers in the venture. FIDESIndia worked with the concept of SUPPORTIVE EDUCATION and tried to realize this dream through various projects meant for communities and individuals. Its existence of the past few years was an enterprise of learning. We have been working in the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and have supported hundreds of children and families from poor communities in addressing the causes of their poverty and inequality.
FIDESIndia Society attempts to transform the lives of marginalized communities to get them to the mainstream of the society. FIDESIndia is known for its ability to train other volunteer organizations and service organizations. Besides its work for the poor and marginalized the society was known for its involvement with national and international organizations for training purposes. FIDESIndia is part of FID Dialogue an organization of German government for promoting international volunteerism. FIDESIndia has entered into an agreement with the University of Burgos, in Spain for a term of three years to promote voluntarism among their students and to collaborate with our work.

Love, Serve and Empower

To provide a peaceful and productive environment for all children, especially children who are in need of care and protection, (boys and girls)  to have a positive experience and awareness of the dignified decent life in  everyday. To help each individual student to strive to do their best at every task, meet their individual goals; instill self-confidence and self-esteem in every aspect of their lives. And above all else, to teach each child to display courtesy for every person; have respect for each other, their parents and those around them; and to be honest, have a great spirit, and finally to develop self-discipline.

A Just and Caring Society

We strive to create a “just” society where all people can live with dignity, social security, and peace, rejoicing in their rights and fulfilling their duties to society and to the nation.

As You Desire That Men Should Do To You, Do Likewise To Them

Our core values underpin the way in which we behave and go about our purpose. They are clearly expressed through our thinking, behavior and decision making – together they establish our working organization culture. Values lie at the heart of what brings people together in order to accomplish a common aim or task. People join with others who share and are motivated by the same values. Values drive behaviour, both individuals and organizations. While all believers and Christian organizations hold to certain common values, ministries have a set of core values that drive organizational behaviour.

Why Supportive Educational Initiatives?

FidesIndia Intervenes Through Supportive Education

Investment in education especially primary education is one of the most important determinants of human welfare, opportunity, and economic growth. The linkages in each of these areas are now well established as to be beyond serious dispute. The low earnings of poor people are partly a consequence of their low levels of skill and literacy. Better educated people adapt more easily to new technologies, and have higher rates of productivity.
FIDESIndia can provide better orientation through qualified personnel as we have an organized set up and many paid staff and volunteers. People approach FIDESIndia from all over the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala seeking for help. But when it come s to the developmental activities FIDESIndia works with the surrounding villages in each of our centers. These villages are rural in nature. Economic status is low. Many of them are landless laborers. People are generally co-operative and have an inclination towards development.

The reasons for FIDESIndia to envisage SEI (Supportive Educational Initiatives) are as follows.
